Angel Biscuits
YIELD: 18 Biscuits
PREP TIME: 10 minutes  COOK TIME: 10-12 minutes Â
TOTAL TIME: 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup. warm water
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups barley flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 cup butter (or coconut oil, or canola margarine)
- 2 cups buttermilk
DIRECTIONSÂ
- Preheat oven to 400°F​
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water
- In a large bowl, combine the all purpose flour, barley flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Cut the butter (or alternative) into the flour mixture.
- Blend the buttermilk and the yeast.
- Combine the flour mixture and the yeast mixture.
- Drop the dough, one spoonful at a time onto the baking. sheet.Â
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or. until lightly brown.

TIPS​
*Our favorite yeast is SAF yeast.
*You can use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or mix by hand.Â
