HAMBURGER BUNS
Add some great flavor to your next BBQ!
YIELDS: 12 buns
INGREDIENTS
SPONGE:
- 2 TBSP active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (plus 2 TBSP)
- 3 TBSP oil
- 3 TBSP sugar
DOUGH:
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/2- 3 cups bread flour
- 1/2 cup AFC barley flour
DIRECTIONS
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add oil and sugar, and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the egg, salt, and enough flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 3-5 minutes.
- Divide into 12 pieces and shape each into a ball, and flatten them to the desired size. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
- Bake at 425°F for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool on wire rack. Enjoy!
